Oltre a ricostruirne la genealogia e le ambivalenze percorrendo storia e geografia della nozione di indisciplina (e di disciplina) da Oriente a Occidente, Ksikes fa emergere – seguendone le diramazioni dalla letteratura alle arti visive, dal teatro alle scienze sociali, dalle roccaforti accademiche alle piazze – il valore imprescindibile come pratica di libertà, passione di conoscere, risorsa creativa, educazione permanente. Vera e propria espressione di un’etica del decentramento che consente di fare quel «passo di lato», quella diversione quotidiana dalle strade già tracciate da poteri, istituzioni e tradizioni consolidate, con cui cominciare ad aprire brecce nei troppi muri di certezze ed esclusioni che ci circondano.&#13;
&#13;
Come scrive Paola Gandolfi nella sua prefazione, questo libro è importante perché «ci invita a essere profondi conoscitori del nostro tempo e insieme anacronisti, riuscendo a operare quella sfasatura di chi è davvero contemporaneo. È un invito a inoltrarsi su certi sentieri marginali perché farlo significa andare in cerca di libertà e di giustizia e, prima ancora, di dignità umana».</text>
