Negli ultimi anni è nata una nuova musica, la trap, che ha conquistato gli adolescenti e le classifiche, con nuovi suoni e nuovi contenuti. Gli adulti sono preoccupati per i valori che queste canzoni possono trasmettere ai ragazzi. La musica, in effetti, riveste un ruolo importante nella vita degli adolescenti, nella costruzione della loro identità: serve a dare voce alle emozioni e ai sentimenti, aiuta a capire chi si è, accomuna, riconoscendo le appartenenze, e aiuta a comunicare con gli altri in modo più diretto. Le canzoni trap in cima alle classifiche italiane parlano ossessivamente di droga, del desiderio di essere ricchi e famosi, esibiscono una sessualità maschile predatoria, in cui la donna è trattata come oggetto. Ma che relazione c’è tra questo tipo di musica, i suoi ritmi e testi, e la generazione attuale di adolescenti, con i suoi problemi, disagi, ma anche aspirazioni e valori? È davvero questa la nuova cultura degli adolescenti? Le storie, in realtà, ricordano lo stile di un preadolescente maschio, spavaldo, senza limiti e senza legge. Il volume ripercorre la nascita e lo sviluppo della musica trap, dalle origini nel rap americano fino all’inarrestabile diffusione italiana; analizza i contenuti delle canzoni più famose e ne fa emergere i nuclei narrativi mettendo in relazione scelte musicali e personalità in adolescenza. È un modo per aiutare gli adulti – genitori, insegnanti, educatori e operatori sociali – a entrare in contatto con i nuovi adolescenti attraverso la musica in cui si riconoscono.</text>

                <text>Dopo l’esplosione del punk anche in Italia si è verificato un rinascimento musicale. In un momento di riflusso e stagnazione culturale, alcune band hanno saputo interpretare al meglio e in totale controtendenza il bisogno di cambiamento. La new wave italiana è il risultato di una contaminazione di molteplici generi tra cui rock, elettronica, pop, reggae e disco music. Le possibilità sembravano infinite e c’era la volontà di costruire qualcosa di realmente diverso. Questi esperimenti hanno generato una scena seguita da migliaia di giovani in fuga dall’individualismo dilagante, gettando le basi per nuove mutazioni che ci hanno accompagnato fino a oggi. Gli altri ottanta è un libro che raccoglie le testimonianze di alcuni tra i più importanti musicisti dell’epoca: un racconto corale a partire dai tardi anni settanta per arrivare alla fine del decennio successivo, un periodo di grandi contraddizioni, dalla crisi dei movimenti politici al nuovo boom economico. Gli ottanta non sono soltanto quelli del culto dell’ottimismo e del superfluo, non solo dance e synth-pop commerciale, ma anche un laboratorio di forme di comunicazione innovative. Hipster, beatnik, mod, skin, punk, raver: per vari decenni, a partire dal dopoguerra, le sottoculture e le controculture giovanili hanno scandito il susseguirsi delle generazioni contribuendo in maniera decisiva a reinventare non solo le pratiche artistiche ma anche le forme dell’aggregazione collettiva e dell’agire politico.&#13;
Going underground si propone in primo luogo di fare il punto sulle analisi e le narrazioni che, a partire dagli anni settanta, hanno cercato di cogliere le specificità delle culture dissidenti giovanili. Il volume cerca poi di verificare come le categorie elaborate in riferimento al mondo anglo-americano possano essere applicate al caso italiano, ossia alla particolare vicenda delle sottoculture/controculture del nostro paese, segnata da specificità molto significative. A conclusione di tale itinerario, l’interrogazione si sposta sul presente, ponendo la questione delle affinità e differenze fra le tendenze giovanili contemporanee e quelle che hanno segnato la seconda metà del Novecento.</text>
